How Compensation Works

Tavian makes companies pay you based on expected production time, not the clock you punch. This means skilled, efficient workers earn significantly more.

• Each part has an expected time to complete (based on averages across all workers).

• Your pay is your base hourly rate × the expected time — no matter how fast you finish.

• If you run multiple machines, you’re paid for all expected time at once.

Examples:

• A part is expected to take 2 hours. Your base rate is $26.50/hr. You finish in 1 hour. You still earn $53.00.

• Two orders run on two machines at once. Each order takes 2 hours (4 hours total expected). You finish both in 2 hours. You are still paid for 4 hours = $106.00.

 The faster and more skilled you are, the more money you make.

Tavian acts as your manager and business partner. We handle the business side so you can focus on production.

About Tavian

Tavian was founded by Zakery Karnes, who grew up in a family-owned metal stamping business. Zak saw firsthand how skilled workers often struggled to earn beyond a baseline wage, while large companies controlled the flow of orders and dictated low pay.

Tavian was created to flip that model — to empower skilled tradesmen while giving manufacturers a faster, more reliable labor solution. Instead of unions that lower standards and reward mediocrity, Tavian enables the highest skill to achieve the highest reward. Workers who can do the job of two or three people are paid the price of two or three people.
